How productive am I?
Today I started out not feeling very productive but cleaned the tub and got a wiff of bleach and then I felt in the mood to clean. So swept the floor and got out my favorite toy aka Steam M0p. I LOVE it! Had the kids playing in the backyard and I got it all looking so pretty. AFter they were all done and we were all in the house I hear a crash. I go check and one of the containers of freshly filled cereal spills all over the floor. No worries I get it all swept up. Mistake happens when I forget to put one of the boxes of cereal back. Seconds later when I walked out of the room for something I hear crackling. I go look and there is spilled cereal and a box next to it. I ask Kolette what happened. She looks up and me in a don't you get it look and says "It's for when I am a kitty I can lick it up off the floor". How do you argue w/that logic?

My weekend...
For 2 years I have had to listen to my brother tell me that I have "nasty" feet. He is sooooo right. So for 2 years he has gotten me a certificate that I keep in pristine condition at my house and haven't redeemed. So he has pressured me to go in and do it. He offered his free babysitting services just so I will. So... Kenda and I went to Gina's salon and got our first ever Pedicures. I was really afraid to show them my seriously scary feet. It was a fun get away and my toes are very pretty. But Gina called to check out how we liked them after and when I said I was suprised they didn't take the calluses off much she was not too happy. So needless to say we each get another free pedi. Yahoo!!! I got to say NEVER mess w/Gina. She has helped me out of many situations that are actually serious compared to calluses. She had my back when Kolette was in the hospital. Thanks Gina!
Donnie was out of town for Friday and didn't come back until Sat night. Soooooo since I have a truly U-G-L-Y yard I called the neighbor and had her son mow it. Then my wonderful brother and I took care of the rest. I weed wacked the heck out of it and he pulled weeds and burned some too. He rocks!!! We have such insane prices for water in town that until I have a well I am not going to have a pretty lawn. Of course this really makes my neighbors happy but I am sure they will survive. Won't they? In the grand scheme of it all does a yard make the person or a tidy house for that matter make the person? I hope not b/c I would not be a person;o)
I do have truly GREAT news! One of my very dear friends has gone thru some major health problems for the past couple years too many to list. Then to top it off her husband got laid off before Christmas. She has had such amazing faith thru all of it and on Thurs he got a great offer and he starts a new job on the 6th! God is so good! I am so thankful for this. I told my little microphone aka Kolette and she has told all the other kids. It is so great to have your kids see the answer to prayer. Esp. when the answer was no for a long time it is just wonderful.

Fevers and no-no's
It has been a bit nuts here the past couple of days. For one on Sun night Kolette spiked a fever of 104.5 and I did the whole motrin and bath thing. It did go down and the next day you would never know she had ever been sick. All day monday and most of tues she was fine as well. Tues and last night she has had a fever of 103.8. Grrr... I sooooooo don't get being sick at night and totally fine in the morn. But I am SO thankful for text messaging. Why? Well after all the problems I have had w/my doctors office(never w/him or his wonderful nurse). I have finally figured out how to get to talk to the nurse I want to. AFter Connor got the goose egg she texted me a couple days later to check on how he was. So I have been texting her every morn and letting her know what is going on. I LOVE IT! Of course she called my baby an alien b/c she never follows the rules, and said of course I would never be a worry wart.
Now the really disturbing thing is what is going on in the 1st grade. I have been bragging about what a sweet class they are. Uh... well not so much. They are a bunch of pervs. I talked to an aid a few weeks back and she said that there have been some incidents w/kids touching and being inapproiate in that grade. I asked if it was Connor's class and she said no. Well apparantly that isn't so now. There have been 3 incidents in his class in a week and I mean over my dead body incidents. Thankfully the teacher took care of it and the boys got suspended. But I just wonder what they are dealing w/at home that makes them think this is normal behavior. How weird is it that a bunch of 1st grade boys are doing the things that they are doing? Can I homeschool now? I thought that all the weird stuff was susposed to happen in Middle school and High school not in the what I thought was the more innocent years of school. I also help out in Connor's class on Fridays and I need all the prayers that I can get to keep from wanting to thump those boys on the heads. Grrr....
The science fair is over till next year yahoo! Connor is so excited to get to be in it next year and already thinking of what to do. I don't know how geared up I am to do 2 experiments next year but hope that none of them have to sit on my counter. Also no rodents that is SO out of the question.

Mold, mustard and boobs
Life is NEVER boring around here. But some things you never even think about till you have kids and they bring them up. For one I never thought mold would be cool, however Corrin's doing a science experiment. It is "Which sandwich will mold fastest" the 3 sandwiches are tuna, ham and cheese, and peanut butter and jelly. Now I will admit I am the crazy one who has these unappetizing experiments on my kitchen counter. But the tuna one is nasty and the pb&j is getting gross and the ham and cheese just doesn't look like you would want to eat it but other than that not bad. However I think I am more excited to see the changes in them than Corrin. Go figure.
Now speaking of sandwiches yesterday Ian decided to make me one. It was a mustard, ketchup and ham sandwich. YUCK!!!! But as he is looking at me w/a look that only can be described as "I love you mommy" I had to take a bite. It honestly took everything in me to not show how badly I wanted to throw up. He asked me if I liked it. I honestly told him that my favorite ingredient was the love he used to make it. I then told him I was full and would have to get to it later. He was good w/that. He did however manage to eat all of the one he made himself.
Also the other day Ian was helping me fold laundry and he holds up my bra. He says "Mom, what do I do with your Boob holder?" That works for me.
Never a dull moment. Also never thought I would say "No sleeping w/a wrench in your bed" also Ian. My in-laws thought that it would be a great idea to get him a REAL hammer(which he thinks is great to pound on the concrete), wrench, clamp, tape measure, and a electric drill(not meant to be screwed into my carpet). Now to Ian these truly are the best gifts in the world but learning where they should be used is still being learned.

How many 3yr olds is too many?
Kolette is part of a Joyschool group. It is taught by the mom's every 6weeks. So really it isn't too hard. But today was my day and I had 5 3-yr olds and one 4yr old. They wanted to play and outside would have been so great if it wasn't so windy that they would have blown away. They don't have the longest attention spans and if one kid thinks s/thing is funny it is really hard to get them to all quit doing it. Seriously they are so cute but I think today was just mentally wearing to me. I didn't sleep very well b/c of the wind and then I had the kids for 2 1/2 hrs and one more for 2 hrs after that. Granted she was great.
Then I had 2 of my favorite kids come home w/us after school. The kids all wanted to fly kites and I thought it was a bit too strong but thought they would all have fun so said it was fine. Maya's kite broke off the holder it was so strong. So while trying to untie hers Kolette walks thru and tangles her w/Maya's. So then Connor and Giles come w/their tangled kites. I got them apart but one of the kites was seriously tangled. Why did I think it was so important to sit on the kitchen floor for WAY too long trying to untie it? Donnie told me to cut it but I was too proud and kept at it. I almost got it when I realized we had to get dinner before the game. so the stupid kite is on my couch mocking me for not untying it. Stupid Stupid Kite!

WE WON!!!
Yeah!!!! The day finally arrived, we got a goal 2 in fact and then we won the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Corrin and her team won and they are getting a pizza party after their game on Sat. We (some of the parents on the team) promised them if they got a goal we would treat them to pizza.) So after the 1st goal and a huge scream from the parents on the sidelines later the girls were on fire. Then we got our second and they were so wanting another one but they blew the whistle before we could get a 3rd. Corrin actually got the 2nd goal after Kelsee got it up to her. It was nice to see her foot under the ball and shoot it in. I attempted to take a picture and even had it set to take it just as her foot connected and my camera clearly thought I am stupid and didn't take it. Grrr...
I told my friend that if they won I would do a cartwheel. Yes, I can do a cartwheel but dang am I going to feel it tomorrow. It does however take alot more to do a cartwheel now. I had to take off the coat so my camera and phone wouldn't fall out. Then I had to tuck in my sweater coz no one wants to see that. Not only would it blind them but it just isn't pretty anymore. Practicality vs. being a carefree kid soooo different.
Now onto a game for both on Sat. So excited to see if the energy they had after a win will transfer to the next game.

Kill that Easter Bunny
Ok, I had forgotten about this funny little thing Connor had said till I read about Emma finding bunny poop on Easter morn. Anyhow it is just funny how kids minds work. My kids are not big fans of people dressed in costumes and I get that. Now Kolette is an exception to that rule. Corrin flat out refuses to this day to stand near the easter bunny and she is 9. Connor my friendly one has no problem-now... Ian forget it never going to happen.
So when Connor was 4 I took the kids to the Easter egg hunt at the park(also across from my house very handy). Anyhow Donnie was coaching an older girls soccer team and I was winging it on my own. Anyhow we did the hunt and I was trying to get a cute pic w/the easter bunny. I told Connor to stand by her and he refused. He then told me that he wanted his Daddy to shoot that Easter bunny. He said he didn't like that Easter bunny and he wanted his Daddy to shoot him. Now to tell Connor that story today he gives me a quizzical look like I am clearly lying. I do have witnesses or one witness my mom. Too funny. Of course the boy doesn't believe in the tooth fairy. Go figure at least he doesn't want her shot or Ian and Kolette would be devestated and Corrin too for that matter she still believes. I had to actually write a letter for Connor to ask the tooth fairy if he could have his tooth necklace and tooth back. She did bring it back and now he keeps it on my dresser. Too factual that boy. Maybe the Easter Bunny needs to poop at my house too and the reindeer too. Now the tooth fairy pooping that could get a bit messy maybe she just leaves floss all over the floor. Tiffani you are rubbing off on me. Hehehe

No Make up Monday
This is an official holiday I celebrate once a week. I call it "No Make Up Monday". I have been a little lax lately since Kolette has Ballet on Mondays but I decided I needed to celebrate it again. I spent the day cleaning and putting make up on seems like a waste. My face wants to breathe. Or at least that is what I tell myself. Now I do do my hair and wear decent clothes on No Make up Monday. But I decided to be honest and post a picture that Corrin took on one such No Make up Monday. One Monday she actually asked me why I put make up on. Now I stress that she is too pretty for make up and that God made her beautiful just the way she is. Now this has worked great w/her but not w/Kolette. Today she had pink lip gloss on her eyes. Now I couldn't get mad at her b/c I told her not to do it but this time she had Ian do it for her. Clever...
Now that is enough honesty for one day. Just the sight of myself doing dishes makes me want to hide. Dishes and Laundry are my nemesis. Grrr.... Now I have to look at all the laundry that I have yet to fold. Seriously HATE laundry the most!

This is a wonderful reminder that Tiff posted for Easter. I think it is very much worth the read. Thanks Tiffani for your beautiful reminder of our Savior.

Me a soccer coach???
Today both the kids games were scheduled at the same time. So I took Connor's team. Mainly for a couple reasons.
1. they are easier
2. they always win
3. Corrin's team scares and intimidates me
4. Corrin's team is almost all girls . . . too much drama
So anyhow I know why I am happy to be the parent on the side and let Donnie take care of the rest. Stress... To start off all the boys are on time and the girls are running late. Sound familiar? Anyhow then I have the drama mama show up and ask the question that she clearly knows the answer to in front of the referee. "Can she wear her earrings for the game?" Me and the ref "NO!" Duh she knows this. So she says then she isn't going to play b/c it takes too much time to put them back in. Ok, I could have been quiet here but since she has a gift for figuring out how to make me at fault for everything from her not making it to a game or knowing about pictures. I just couldn't let it go. I told her that no matter where you play soccer that is the rule and also that the other kids would have to play w/6 players instead of 7 (when we are susposed to have 9 anyhow) Honestly...
Other than that and dealing w/the boy who steals the ball from his own players and not to mention his mom pays him for goals. Everything was hunky dory. They won too...
Corrin's team still is yet to get a goal. I would LOVE to see them score just once this season. We have won games in the past but I hate to see them not even score. Come on girls I am cheering for you.

Pajama party
Today Connor's class had a pajama party. Their class averaged 5 tubs of cookie dough being sold so their teacher went into the money machine. She used the money to let the kids pick out $10 worth of books out of the book order and they read books all day in their jammies.
Note to self: Boys are NEVER as excited about wearing jammies to school as girls. Had to actually call and find out if his best bud was wearing them or else he flat refused to. I also told him he was whether he wanted to or not. He took a pair of sweats to put over them for recess. Seriously get over it but I guess it is more of a boy thing. As I walked up to the school one of his classmates refused to get out of the car in his jammies. I had planned on wearing jammies when I went in to help but figured I would be put on the black list by Connor if I did. So I went fully dressed. Darn sounded like fun to me but I am a girl...
Anyhow it was also his buddy's b-day party as well today. Connor's teacher has all the kids say what they like about the birthday kid as well. So all the kids say s/thing except for 2 who were being poops. Most of the comments are short like "he is respectful, he is a good friend, he is a great soccer player, good at math..." So after most of the class has gone it is Connor's turn. Who by the way wanted to go first. Never at a loss for words this is what Connor had to say. "He is the bestest friend in the whole world. He kicks the soccer ball really far. He is good at passing not like Junior who is a ball hogger. (and one other thing I couldn't remember)" I just thought it was so cute that he put so much thought into it and truly his friend deserves every one of the compliments he's a great boy. Now I am not sure how many of the other kids or parents or teacher heard what Kenda and I heard about Junior but we were trying to hide our snickering.
Aren't kids so cute and honest? It is going to be a real bummer when he starts pointing out my flaws the list is VERY long. Thankfully he still loves me and also doesn't want green beans for dinner so he better be very nice:o)

Gooseeggs...
Ok, now for those of you who REALLY know me you won't be suprised by what I am about to tell you. However if I have ever fooled any of you into thinking I am a calm, non-neurotic, laid-back and polite kind of gal have I got a story to tell you.
Now this really isn't a huge deal but I manage to make it one. I have handled LOTS of illness' mainly Kolette's in my life as a mommy. However injuries aren't my thing. Thankfully my kids haven't had too many of those. Other than Kolette trying to knock out her front tooth at a year and a half which I was of course very calm about that has been our worst.
We were delivering some cookie dough that we had had a hard time finding the people home on Tues. Anyhow Connor's been really looking forward to it since Don has told him he made a marshmellow gun. Connor talked about it the entire time we are there till Don had scrounged his entire kitchen and couldn't find any marshmellows and went to the store. I pulled my car out of the drive so he could get out. I ran into s/one and talked to her for a minute and then I hear screaming. Connor had managed to get in a fight w/the concrete and a rock. He has a massive goose egg on his head( or at least in my mind it was massive) and it is sticking out of his head over his left eyebrow an inch. I tried to not freak out and of course I am doing a smashing job of it. I go in their house and Connie gets me a ice pack and I am holding it to his head as he asks me in a very panicked voice "What's a goose egg?" "Is s/thing stuck in my head?". I am trying to answer calmly apparantly I have rubbed off on the little hypocondriac.
I call the doctors office and it is 6:30 and demand the receptionist get me a nurse, not the nurse line so I can hear their message. I then tell her that I want her to physically get up and find me a nurse. She tries to tell me that they could be in rooms. I tell her in my super calm voice that I will wait till they get out of a room and that my son has a massive goose egg on his head. Amazingly my favorite nurse in the entire world answers and tells me that where he hit is the hardest part of the skull, if he isn't throwing up or unconscious he is fine. Watch him and give him some tylenol and call her on her cell if I have any problems. Then Don gets back and starts to shoot marshmellows and Connor while his wife is scolding him telling him that Connor is hurt. Major difference between men and women. But after 4 marshmellows Connor is laughing and trying to shoot them at Corrin. He is cured!
I told him he should make the story more interesting than falling and say he jumped on his best friend Giles back one too many times and Giles slugged him. If you knew Giles you would never believe that story. Connor is like the hyper Chiuawa(sp?) and Giles is like the calm Lab.
So tonite we are at the soccer game and Rebecca the wonderful nurse text messages me and asks about Connor. Can you beat that for sweetness.
Oh and of course Connor is just fine. Hard to believe any of my kids could be normal w/a mom like me!

Things I don't like to hear in the car...
Just a quick post. But these are a few of the top things I don't like to hear in the car
Ian to Kolette: "I will say no, no, no and you say yes, yes, yes"
Ian "No, no, no.........................."
Kolette "Yes, yes, yes..................."
Mommy "Stop, stop stop!!!!!!!"
ARe you kidding me?
Corrin & Connor "Stop touching me, stop touching my seat, hey that is mine, hey give it back!" Repeat...
All things that make me want to use duck tape in large quanities. One day all things that will give me comic relief. For now I am tired and I would like to not have to figure out how to plug my ears while driving. So far I haven't figured a safe way so the duck tape route sounds easier.

Ahhh Benadryl...
I have to say that living in the modern day of medicine and hosptials so close nearby has it's perks. Benadryl is my fave of the week. Connor's best friend was over yesterday and they were having a great time playing outside and then Giles came in and said he was laying on the sidewalk and got bit by a flying ant. Evil little bug bit him and in the time it took me to go upstairs and get the Benadryl and call his mom to clear the meds it has already slightly swelled. By the time his mom got here it had swelled to the size of my thumbprint. Thankfully she likes me enough to leave him here so I don't think I am in too much trouble w/his injury. His sister got her foot stepped on by Corrin but Benadryl didn't solve that. Darn!
Today after Connor spending all last night and most of today coughing he actually asked for cough medicine. Myself would have to be on my death bed to resort to cough medicine of any sort. Give me a pill but not the nasty syrup. Anyhow the on call doc said to give him Benadryl at night and the cough gunk in the day. So now Connor has been peacefully sleeping for awhile. Yea Benadryl!! Hip hip horray!!! No, it really doesn't take much to make me happy. Now for this head cold of mine if it means cough meds I will just suffer.

Soccer ups and downs
We just had our 4th game yesterday. Corrin's team played and they played very well, but I just wish they could have one win this season. We have an almost all girl team sans 2 boys. But they changed our league to 3 & 4th instead of 2 & 3rd which it was susposed to be and they have HUGE boys. One of our boys asked a boy on the other team "Are you like a really big 6th grader?" Seriously he was right on with that question I wondered the same thing. Anyhow they play great together and are using good teamwork but they have been a bit scared of the boys. However yesterday it seemed like almost all of them weren't scared. They just haven't won yet and I wish for them that they could have the score reflect the great players that they are. There are still 5 games left but I don't think it is that much to ask for 1 game for our girls & 2 boys.
Connor's team on the other hand has never lost a game and this is their 3rd season. Thankfully I haven't heard Corrin complain about the difference. However I am getting tired of super cold weather for these games. If it could just not rain or be windy that would be an improvement. I don't ask much do I?
Go Blue Go!!!

In a nutshell...
Life is back to craziness since school started back up. Monday was my most normal day w/only Joyschool and ballet practice. Other than asking me for a drink 3 times she did very well. Brrrr... has the teacher ever heard of heat though?
Tuesday was preschool and then help in class and then a soccer game for Connor. I thought the saying was "March in like a lion and out like a lamb"? but I think it is reversed. Honestly it was so cold and the wind was 40 mph. Connor only weighs 45lbs I think I am going to have to put weights on his ankles if it is that windy again. Kolette doesn't even weigh 30 she would sure blow if she tried to walk. They still won the game and Connor got the 1st goal and did his happy dance all the way back to the sidelines.
Wednesday was Joyschool and Ian and I went to Albertsons b/c my super sweet friend told me that they had a serious cereal sale!!!! I bought I think 40 boxes of cereal, grapes, donut holes(they were all for Ian I promise) and pop that was on sale and only spent $40.17. YAHOO!!!! What a friend to share that great news. We had 2 games and then the pinewood derby races before Connors is even over. Other than one super whiney parent who thinks it is sheer fun to mock my organized schedules it was great!
I sent out my 17 Red Envelopes to the White House. I sure hope that alot of other people sent theirs out as well. It is the best cause. Every human life is important even if they haven't drawn their first breath. Life begins at conception and I hope and most importantly pray that our President will find his brain and heart and notice what an important cause the unborn have. I sure hope we can keep up getting out our message since we seem to be silenced by the political left wingers. Ok, I need to change the subject I am getting dizzy on my soap box.
Had another soccer game on Thurs and none today. I actually started this on Wed and haven't had time to finish it and post. Naughty me...
