Today both the kids games were scheduled at the same time. So I took Connor's team. Mainly for a couple reasons.
1. they are easier
2. they always win
3. Corrin's team scares and intimidates me
4. Corrin's team is almost all girls . . . too much drama
So anyhow I know why I am happy to be the parent on the side and let Donnie take care of the rest. Stress... To start off all the boys are on time and the girls are running late. Sound familiar? Anyhow then I have the drama mama show up and ask the question that she clearly knows the answer to in front of the referee. "Can she wear her earrings for the game?" Me and the ref "NO!" Duh she knows this. So she says then she isn't going to play b/c it takes too much time to put them back in. Ok, I could have been quiet here but since she has a gift for figuring out how to make me at fault for everything from her not making it to a game or knowing about pictures. I just couldn't let it go. I told her that no matter where you play soccer that is the rule and also that the other kids would have to play w/6 players instead of 7 (when we are susposed to have 9 anyhow) Honestly...
Other than that and dealing w/the boy who steals the ball from his own players and not to mention his mom pays him for goals. Everything was hunky dory. They won too...
Corrin's team still is yet to get a goal. I would LOVE to see them score just once this season. We have won games in the past but I hate to see them not even score. Come on girls I am cheering for you.

Pajama party
Today Connor's class had a pajama party. Their class averaged 5 tubs of cookie dough being sold so their teacher went into the money machine. She used the money to let the kids pick out $10 worth of books out of the book order and they read books all day in their jammies.
Note to self: Boys are NEVER as excited about wearing jammies to school as girls. Had to actually call and find out if his best bud was wearing them or else he flat refused to. I also told him he was whether he wanted to or not. He took a pair of sweats to put over them for recess. Seriously get over it but I guess it is more of a boy thing. As I walked up to the school one of his classmates refused to get out of the car in his jammies. I had planned on wearing jammies when I went in to help but figured I would be put on the black list by Connor if I did. So I went fully dressed. Darn sounded like fun to me but I am a girl...
Anyhow it was also his buddy's b-day party as well today. Connor's teacher has all the kids say what they like about the birthday kid as well. So all the kids say s/thing except for 2 who were being poops. Most of the comments are short like "he is respectful, he is a good friend, he is a great soccer player, good at math..." So after most of the class has gone it is Connor's turn. Who by the way wanted to go first. Never at a loss for words this is what Connor had to say. "He is the bestest friend in the whole world. He kicks the soccer ball really far. He is good at passing not like Junior who is a ball hogger. (and one other thing I couldn't remember)" I just thought it was so cute that he put so much thought into it and truly his friend deserves every one of the compliments he's a great boy. Now I am not sure how many of the other kids or parents or teacher heard what Kenda and I heard about Junior but we were trying to hide our snickering.
Aren't kids so cute and honest? It is going to be a real bummer when he starts pointing out my flaws the list is VERY long. Thankfully he still loves me and also doesn't want green beans for dinner so he better be very nice:o)

Gooseeggs...
Ok, now for those of you who REALLY know me you won't be suprised by what I am about to tell you. However if I have ever fooled any of you into thinking I am a calm, non-neurotic, laid-back and polite kind of gal have I got a story to tell you.
Now this really isn't a huge deal but I manage to make it one. I have handled LOTS of illness' mainly Kolette's in my life as a mommy. However injuries aren't my thing. Thankfully my kids haven't had too many of those. Other than Kolette trying to knock out her front tooth at a year and a half which I was of course very calm about that has been our worst.
We were delivering some cookie dough that we had had a hard time finding the people home on Tues. Anyhow Connor's been really looking forward to it since Don has told him he made a marshmellow gun. Connor talked about it the entire time we are there till Don had scrounged his entire kitchen and couldn't find any marshmellows and went to the store. I pulled my car out of the drive so he could get out. I ran into s/one and talked to her for a minute and then I hear screaming. Connor had managed to get in a fight w/the concrete and a rock. He has a massive goose egg on his head( or at least in my mind it was massive) and it is sticking out of his head over his left eyebrow an inch. I tried to not freak out and of course I am doing a smashing job of it. I go in their house and Connie gets me a ice pack and I am holding it to his head as he asks me in a very panicked voice "What's a goose egg?" "Is s/thing stuck in my head?". I am trying to answer calmly apparantly I have rubbed off on the little hypocondriac.
I call the doctors office and it is 6:30 and demand the receptionist get me a nurse, not the nurse line so I can hear their message. I then tell her that I want her to physically get up and find me a nurse. She tries to tell me that they could be in rooms. I tell her in my super calm voice that I will wait till they get out of a room and that my son has a massive goose egg on his head. Amazingly my favorite nurse in the entire world answers and tells me that where he hit is the hardest part of the skull, if he isn't throwing up or unconscious he is fine. Watch him and give him some tylenol and call her on her cell if I have any problems. Then Don gets back and starts to shoot marshmellows and Connor while his wife is scolding him telling him that Connor is hurt. Major difference between men and women. But after 4 marshmellows Connor is laughing and trying to shoot them at Corrin. He is cured!
I told him he should make the story more interesting than falling and say he jumped on his best friend Giles back one too many times and Giles slugged him. If you knew Giles you would never believe that story. Connor is like the hyper Chiuawa(sp?) and Giles is like the calm Lab.
So tonite we are at the soccer game and Rebecca the wonderful nurse text messages me and asks about Connor. Can you beat that for sweetness.
Oh and of course Connor is just fine. Hard to believe any of my kids could be normal w/a mom like me!

Things I don't like to hear in the car...
Just a quick post. But these are a few of the top things I don't like to hear in the car
Ian to Kolette: "I will say no, no, no and you say yes, yes, yes"
Ian "No, no, no.........................."
Kolette "Yes, yes, yes..................."
Mommy "Stop, stop stop!!!!!!!"
ARe you kidding me?
Corrin & Connor "Stop touching me, stop touching my seat, hey that is mine, hey give it back!" Repeat...
All things that make me want to use duck tape in large quanities. One day all things that will give me comic relief. For now I am tired and I would like to not have to figure out how to plug my ears while driving. So far I haven't figured a safe way so the duck tape route sounds easier.

Ahhh Benadryl...
I have to say that living in the modern day of medicine and hosptials so close nearby has it's perks. Benadryl is my fave of the week. Connor's best friend was over yesterday and they were having a great time playing outside and then Giles came in and said he was laying on the sidewalk and got bit by a flying ant. Evil little bug bit him and in the time it took me to go upstairs and get the Benadryl and call his mom to clear the meds it has already slightly swelled. By the time his mom got here it had swelled to the size of my thumbprint. Thankfully she likes me enough to leave him here so I don't think I am in too much trouble w/his injury. His sister got her foot stepped on by Corrin but Benadryl didn't solve that. Darn!
Today after Connor spending all last night and most of today coughing he actually asked for cough medicine. Myself would have to be on my death bed to resort to cough medicine of any sort. Give me a pill but not the nasty syrup. Anyhow the on call doc said to give him Benadryl at night and the cough gunk in the day. So now Connor has been peacefully sleeping for awhile. Yea Benadryl!! Hip hip horray!!! No, it really doesn't take much to make me happy. Now for this head cold of mine if it means cough meds I will just suffer.

Soccer ups and downs
We just had our 4th game yesterday. Corrin's team played and they played very well, but I just wish they could have one win this season. We have an almost all girl team sans 2 boys. But they changed our league to 3 & 4th instead of 2 & 3rd which it was susposed to be and they have HUGE boys. One of our boys asked a boy on the other team "Are you like a really big 6th grader?" Seriously he was right on with that question I wondered the same thing. Anyhow they play great together and are using good teamwork but they have been a bit scared of the boys. However yesterday it seemed like almost all of them weren't scared. They just haven't won yet and I wish for them that they could have the score reflect the great players that they are. There are still 5 games left but I don't think it is that much to ask for 1 game for our girls & 2 boys.
Connor's team on the other hand has never lost a game and this is their 3rd season. Thankfully I haven't heard Corrin complain about the difference. However I am getting tired of super cold weather for these games. If it could just not rain or be windy that would be an improvement. I don't ask much do I?
Go Blue Go!!!

In a nutshell...
Life is back to craziness since school started back up. Monday was my most normal day w/only Joyschool and ballet practice. Other than asking me for a drink 3 times she did very well. Brrrr... has the teacher ever heard of heat though?
Tuesday was preschool and then help in class and then a soccer game for Connor. I thought the saying was "March in like a lion and out like a lamb"? but I think it is reversed. Honestly it was so cold and the wind was 40 mph. Connor only weighs 45lbs I think I am going to have to put weights on his ankles if it is that windy again. Kolette doesn't even weigh 30 she would sure blow if she tried to walk. They still won the game and Connor got the 1st goal and did his happy dance all the way back to the sidelines.
Wednesday was Joyschool and Ian and I went to Albertsons b/c my super sweet friend told me that they had a serious cereal sale!!!! I bought I think 40 boxes of cereal, grapes, donut holes(they were all for Ian I promise) and pop that was on sale and only spent $40.17. YAHOO!!!! What a friend to share that great news. We had 2 games and then the pinewood derby races before Connors is even over. Other than one super whiney parent who thinks it is sheer fun to mock my organized schedules it was great!
I sent out my 17 Red Envelopes to the White House. I sure hope that alot of other people sent theirs out as well. It is the best cause. Every human life is important even if they haven't drawn their first breath. Life begins at conception and I hope and most importantly pray that our President will find his brain and heart and notice what an important cause the unborn have. I sure hope we can keep up getting out our message since we seem to be silenced by the political left wingers. Ok, I need to change the subject I am getting dizzy on my soap box.
Had another soccer game on Thurs and none today. I actually started this on Wed and haven't had time to finish it and post. Naughty me...
