Today is Mother's day and we went to our usual Mothers day place-The Zoo!!! I know it seems kinda crazy but seeing the kids enjoy themselves is what being a mom is all about.
So after we run all over the zoo we are walking the long way back to our car. I am saying s/thing to Ian about how "Well coz Mama knows everything right?" to which he is still young and sweet enough to agree. Connor on the other hand doesn't think I know everything he says his dad does. I ask why and he says "Coz Dad went to the same grade twice!" Ok, I give I can't argue w/that logic. Silly boy but he loves his dad. This being the boy that for the first 6 yrs of his life said he was only
Mom's boy to adoration for dad. I guess Donnie deserves some adoration after 8 yrs.

Thanks for the prayers!
God is so good and I am so thankful for praying friends. Sometimes I think I need the reminder that I am not in control of anything that God is. He is only waiting on me to lean on Him.
THANK YOU!!!

Please pray...
Sorry that this will be a rather vague post. However I am just asking you as my Christian friends to keep our family in your prayers. We are going thru a difficult situation and if you would just remember our family in your prayers we would be so eternally thankful.

Give thanks...
Since I have complained a bit on my few and far between posts I am going to say a few things I am thankful for today.
*I am thankful Kolette hasn't had a fever since Sat nite
*I am thankful we are going to her specialist tomorrow and hopefully will get some answers
* I am VERY thankful that in the midst of a doctor change I have found a friend/caring doctor. It has been a very hard transition emotionally for me to change doctors for Kolette b/c of her history. I hate describing her life to everyone new and wondering/hoping they can figure out what is going on w/her. I love the doctor we have seen from Corrin's birth but the office enviornment is not easy to deal with and he is so hard to get into. So I am eternally thankful for Dr. Travis and his willingness to treat Kolette w/the best possible care. He has eased my mama's heart.
* I am thankful school is out in less than 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* I am thankful for family and friends and how they listen to me in my sleep deprived moments of insanity
* I am EXTREMELY thankful to God for allowing me to be a wife and a mom the 2 best jobs in the world!!!
Ok mushy time is over coz I could go on and on and on. . .
Thanks everyone!!!

The fever drama Queen
And the story continues... I was so hoping that with May in our sights that the illness bug would just go away.
So last Wed Corrin almost broke her nose in PE. And to add insult to injury she got sick right on top of it. So I hear alot of "Cough - Ow!" or "Sneeze - Ow!" out of her. And w/the fever and getting a sore throat she has not wanted to eat ever after the fever went away so she has lost like 4 lbs. I am hoping we are on the mend now. At least w/her.
So on Sun evening Kolette gets a fever of 104 and so that was fun. But then Monday she decides that 104 isn't good enough and bumps it up to 105 and I take her to the Dr. Her oxygen was down and she slept the entire appt. Kolette never sleeps so you know she is really sick. We got home w/an antibiotic. Then she acts fine all day yesterday w/just a fever of 101. She ends up at 105 again last night, throws up and is breathing super fast. I woke up the doctor at home who was also sick and he gave me alot of things to do like neb her every 15 mins and if it didn't improve in an hour to take her to the ER.
Anyhow we barely made it thru the night. But she is now on Prednisilone, a heavy antibiotic, pulmicort, her other antibiotic and albuteral. But she just insists she isn't sick she just gets cold. Anyhow life is guaranteed to never be boring w/her just confusing when it comes to the medical part. But God is watching over her and that is all I can ask for. Although I don't think that a little sleep would be out of the question for me.

I'm there for you
I am standing at my computer and this is the conversation I am hearing from the boys bedroom. It is Ian and Kolette.
Ian "I am here for you"
Kolette "I am here for you"
Ian "I won't let anyone hurt you"
Kolette "You look up to me"
Ian "I have to take very, very, very good care of you"
Kolette "What if you got in trouble at school coz someone was mean to me?"
Ian "I will always take care of you"
My cup runneth over!

My Girl!
4th Grade has been a rough one for my Corrin. She started out the year with the teacher she really wanted. She was happy and doing well in class. Then a teacher/family member died who taught in the kindergarten. So Corrin's teacher who is happiest as a kinder teacher took the vacant spot. Corrin got a new fresh out of college teacher. So between the girls that were making her life miserable she had to deal w/a teacher that was rigid and made her more miserable. Corrin became sad and cried alot. This is NOT her. She has always been a straight A student and 2 of her grades dropped to a B and a C. The teacher couldn't explain it and said that it was missing assignments. I know my daughter and there were no missing assignments. She made life very miserable. Anyhow after much struggle we were blessed w/her being moved to a new class w/a new teacher right after the Christmas break.
Immediately Corrin was happy again. She came home from school and said she could talk outside when they were in line. It has been the best thing ever to have her smile again. She loves her new teacher and is thriving. Her conferences went wonderful, but today she got a award at the Awards Assembly and this is what it said :
"Corrin Shuster has earned recognition for Being a model student. You have done an outstanding jo0b of getting every assignment in. You are an amazing student! Your efforts have really helped you achieve higher grades. Keep up the great work and keep that smile on your face!"
Wow what a difference a great teacher can make in the life of a student. In case you ever wonder how to be there for your child just listen. I am thankful I am able to help out in the classroom so I can see first hand what it is really like. I am so thankful that God allowed Corrin to be moved to the best learning place for her.
Oh she also got the P.E. award too:o)
