My Girl!

4th Grade has been a rough one for my Corrin. She started out the year with the teacher she really wanted. She was happy and doing well in class. Then a teacher/family member died who taught in the kindergarten. So Corrin's teacher who is happiest as a kinder teacher took the vacant spot. Corrin got a new fresh out of college teacher. So between the girls that were making her life miserable she had to deal w/a teacher that was rigid and made her more miserable. Corrin became sad and cried alot. This is NOT her. She has always been a straight A student and 2 of her grades dropped to a B and a C. The teacher couldn't explain it and said that it was missing assignments. I know my daughter and there were no missing assignments. She made life very miserable. Anyhow after much struggle we were blessed w/her being moved to a new class w/a new teacher right after the Christmas break.

Immediately Corrin was happy again. She came home from school and said she could talk outside when they were in line. It has been the best thing ever to have her smile again. She loves her new teacher and is thriving. Her conferences went wonderful, but today she got a award at the Awards Assembly and this is what it said :

"Corrin Shuster has earned recognition for Being a model student. You have done an outstanding jo0b of getting every assignment in. You are an amazing student! Your efforts have really helped you achieve higher grades. Keep up the great work and keep that smile on your face!"

Wow what a difference a great teacher can make in the life of a student. In case you ever wonder how to be there for your child just listen. I am thankful I am able to help out in the classroom so I can see first hand what it is really like. I am so thankful that God allowed Corrin to be moved to the best learning place for her.

Letter to the toothfairy

Corrin has gotten into writing to the toothfairy. Either for herself or Connor who doesn't want the toothfairy to take his teeth he wants his mom to have them. This the the letter Corrin left for the toothfairy tonite

"Dear Toothfairy,

Thank you for the gold coin. What is your last name? Mine is Shuster. Can I keep my tooth for tomorrow so my mo can take pictures and then you can take it tomorrow night. Is it okay if I keep the money tonight? Are you a boy or a girl? Do you like Candy? I do. Are you tall or small? Do you have short hair or long hair? I have long hair. I am in forth grade. I love forth grade. Do you go into different countrys or stay in Oregon? Do you have brothers or sisters or both? Are you oddst or youngest? What are their names?I am the oddest and I have 2 brothers and my sisters name is Kolette. Do you have any kids? Whare is your favorite color? Mine is blue.

My last name is Floss. I have long curly hair. I am a girl. I don't have any kids I am gone too much doing the tooth collecting. I have 40 sisters and 7 brothers. I work everywhere. Blue is my fave color too.

Letter from Corrin

Corrin learned how to make a man out of one piece of paper and was so excited about it. Anyhow she was susposed to be in bed and I went upstairs and found she had made me a man and this is the letter that was inside.

"Dear Mom,
I made this man for you. You are sweet, loving, kind, nice. I stayed up till 8:45 but it was worth it. We did this in class but it was bigger and you have to guess which desck is mine and it has my girl that I did it looks like me alot and it took two hours to do at school and we did it from a pieace of paper.

I left the spelling the same and the extremely long run on sentence the same way she did it. My heart is just huge right now w/the love she showed me in a man and a piece of paper. What a kid I will keep her. Like there was any doubt

She has always been very photogenic. But it is still so amazing to me how fast she is growing up. 4th grade this year and she has such a good head on her shoulders. I am so thankful that after all the years it took to get her that God allowed her to be my baby. She is a wonderful blessing!

Laughter is good for the soul

Just a cute pic of Corrin and her friend who was cracking Corrin up. I thought it was great hearing their laughter or in Corrin's case her cackle. I was accused of cackling when I was her age.

Flipping the bird!

We were outside talking yesterday and Donnie said s/thing about flipping the bird. He was talking about s/thing and Corrin heard. I said you know what that is don't you? Corrin says "Yea!" and then she shows me how to flip the bird. She connected her thumbs together and waved the rest of her fingers. Hence flipping the bird...

My long awaited blessing

It took us 3 years to get pregnant w/Corrin and she was worth every worry and tear I cried in the process it took to get her. She is such a wonderful blessing in my life. I am so very thankful that God blessed me w/her as my daughter. I am so proud of her and the young lady she is becoming. She is so kind, respectful and very motherly to her siblings. She blesses me daily just by being her. I am thankful for who she is and how she stands up for what is right.
