Just want to say Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddy's out there. For me growing up Father's day was a day to wonder what it would be like to have a Daddy that actually cared about me and knew me.
I am so thankful that my children have the chance to have that kind of Daddy. I say there is a difference between a Father and a Daddy. I had a Father and my kids are so blessed to have a Daddy. So for me it been a gift to look forward and not back. Donnie adores our children and is a great Dad to them.
It was fun to see Connor yesterday when I went to Target. He found a set of 10 hot wheels and really wanted one of them for Donnie and said he would pay me back for it. So I said ok and the second we got home he went and got me $10 for it. He was so excited to give it to his Daddy. He is all heart that boy. Donnie loved it. They also gave him gifts from church but the hot wheels were so important to Connor and now to his Daddy. Great day! Love from your child . . . priceless

VBS, Fevers and Bronchitis Oh My!
By the way I want to remind myself that it is indeed June. From the looks of the weather it is rainy and stormy so one would think it is April. And whenever it is yucky outside it means you must be sick. So that is my story for the last month. I took Ian in on Monday and he has bronchitis and acts fine as per usual. Took Mystery Child aka Kolette in yesterday and she has some sort of virus. So after sleeping on the couch w/her for 2 days I feel wonderful. She is on day 3 of a fever. Ahh!!!!
To complicate matters I am leading the preschool group at VBS and couldn't take Kolette yesterday and that didn't go over well w/her. But after bribing her daddy to take her to ice cream to soften the blow it went ok. So since both the kids have a game tonite and then they go late to VBS I am not sure what to do. I have to teach my class but w/a sick kid who I can't take and 2 kids playing ball at the same time I am not sure how to do it all.
Anyhow my life in a nutshell. But the good news is we got a few toys for our yardsale next weekend by Connor and Ian cleaning out their closets. Yahoo!

Quilt for Connor's teacher
Corrin and Connor have both had the same teacher for kindergarten and 1st and Lord willing Ian will too. She is a wonderful teacher and lady. I made a quilt w/all the kids in the class' handprints. It was alot of work and so much fun. So I am posting a few pictures. She loved it almost as much as the kids love her.

Dinner at 10???
Ok having kids in sports in the summer is starting to shake up my structured way of living. We have always had dinner around the same time and always went to bed within a half hour of normal always. I have not been good about going off of schedule in the past. So with Mondays being crammed w/ballet from 5 to 6, Connor's game from 6 to 7 and Corrin's game being out of town from 7:45 to 9:10. We are hungry. So my well oiled machine has some squeaks. But to my shock my children are still able to walk and talk going a bit off of schedule.
Corrin's team had their best game yet I enjoyed it alot. It ended in a tie but it wasn't a snore fest of constant walking. Connor's was fun but they should have gone another inning but the other coach was being a poop.
Anyhow life is good and the kids are having fun so we will survive on a more flexible schedule.

Cheap entertainment
We may not be anywhere but at home but the kids are making their own entertainment. They were playing a game I like to call "How quickly can I break my arm?" also known as Slide down the stairs in a laundry basket. Amazingly enough we haven't been to the ER yet. Corrin took a tumble in the middle of the stairs and that is as close as we got. Of course as I am taping this(yes I deserve the mother of the year award) I tell her she is going to break her arm but she and Connor both believe if you don't want to break your arm that you won't. So later that day we go to Connor's game and his coach's son broke his arm. I asked Connor if he had asked the boy if he wanted to break his arm. The concept was lost. Bummer!
So they changed the game to include sliding down the stairs in a sleeping bag.
Todays game was get peanut butter on the ceiling. Not quite sure how they got it there my ceilings are pretty tall. That is pure talent. Never a dull moment around here.
Kolette's life long dream of having "Shells" has finally come true. She love Ariel b/c she has shells of course Ariel has boobs to fill in her shells. But Kolette got a swim suit that she says is shells. So if I can make dreams come true I am doing pretty well.
Now for the base/softball games tonite to see how much more entertaining it can get.

Comic relief Connor style
I must take back what I have said about baseball/softball being boring. I still think I need a pillow for Corrin's games w/all the walks they have. However Connor had his first game tonite and it proved quite entertaining.
Connor has had 1 practice and never has played before. That boy plays w/all he has and is all heart. I love to watch him play b/c he never holds back. These boys and a couple girls were ready to play today. Bummer thing is the coachs son broke his arm yesterday so he gets to coach w/his kid on the bench.
Anyhow Connor and his best friend are on the same team both with completely different outlooks. Giles is all business and knows exactly what to do. Connor on the other hand is on second base talking to the girl who is the 2nd baseman. She goes to our church and they were apparently catching up. I am yelling at him to get him to turn around but each time he looks at me and turns back to his conversation. Finally his team starts to yell at him. He continues in his nonchalant attitude and runs home. Then he got to be the "pitcher" since it is coach pitch. That was funny too but he did go after the balls and threw them. However you have better luck when you look at the person you intend to throw it to. Lesson learned.
Now the best part was when he wanted to be catcher. He did a good job of catching and throwing it back. But then a girl is running home and he goes out there and tags her w/his mitt and knocks her to the ground. Then he tags the next person coming home. Only then did I notice he doesn't have the ball in his glove. I yell to him that he needs the ball to get them out. So he did get s/one out for real after that. Of course I need to learn to keep my mouth shut when a girl comes in and misses home plate and I yell "Connor she didn't touch the base get her" My friend is laughing at me since she knows I need to pipe down. Way too funny!!!!
The girl he tagged out is the same one he was talking to on 2nd base. She said after the game "Connor you knocked me down." I told her he still likes her. No hard feelings I hope. He is such a sweetie but apparantly has more of the agressive spirit than his sister has.
I only wish the games weren't at the same time so I could see both of the kids. But watching Connor's will prove to be more entertaining. Those kids were so cute!!!
