Wow it has been awhile. I get so busy I forget that I have a blog. It is a new year full of new things I am sure. Corrin is in a new classroom and so that is our biggest change. But you can't be afraid of change it is part of what makes us stronger.
We got the kids report cards on Friday. Corrin and Connor did great and had the expected comments on them. So no suprises there. My Ian however. . . well I have always known he marches to his own drum, that he is super stubborn, that he is smarter than he ever lets on, that you can't force him to do anything that is not his idea first. I also know he is super sweet and would do anything for anyone. But then again all on his terms. So his report card looked great but on the comment section was the sandwich effect. His teacher has had both Corrin and Connor in her class for kinder and 1st so she knows our family. Anyhow she says how great he is and how she loves to see his creative twist on things blah, blah, blah ok here is the zinger. "I would love to see Ian be more responsive to whole group learning that he does not see as meaningful, I think the more participation he would engage with the more meaning he would find." then a comment about it being a great quarter of growth. Gotta love it coz it totally sums up Ian. However this does not mean that I am not working on him and getting him to understand how important it is to me and his teacher that he participate in everything in class and always do his best. I still after almost 6 yrs haven't figured out how to best motivate that boy. If I figure out one thing that works guaranteed it won't work the next time.
Kids they are so different. I guess that is why I feel like my brain is in a fuzz. I am always trying to find what works for each of my kids and it always takes change. But I am thankful that I have the opportunity to do it:o)

Cute background! I don't envy you, and I'm sure I will have at least one like that as well! I'm glad you are going first, then you can figure it out and let me know what works! ;) Heehee!!
